Police Cracking Down on Distracted Driving in Groton

GROTON, CT - Groton Town police will be cracking down on distracted drivers, the New London Day reported.
The initiative is part of the "U Drive. U Text. U Pay." campaign, according to the New London Day. The campaign will coincide with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
Police urge drivers to avoid picking up their phone while operating a vehicle and to pull over in a safe area if they should need to use one, the New London Day reported. Drivers are also asked to remind friends and family to do the same.
