Police: Extra Caution Advised On This (Dark &) Stormy Halloween
Police and town officials suggest cautions for the stormy Halloween ahead.

GROTON, CT — Police will have extra patrols out for Halloween, and while there's no plan for now to "discourage trick-or-treating," the town is advising "extra caution" for travelers, on foot going door-to-door, and for motorists. Especially with a dark and stormy night (which sounds very Halloween-y) ahead.
"With the potential of heavy rain and winds expected for Halloween, officials are cautioning both parents and children - as well as the motoring public - to pay special attention as children go trick-or-treating this evening. Children should have costumes with reflective material and utilize flashlights and/or 'glow sticks' as ways to increase children’s visibility on Halloween night. Trick-or-Treaters are also encouraged to travel in groups as they are much more visible than individuals walking alone, and all must be aware of the reduced visibility that potential rains during the already dark evening hours will cause," Town Police wrote on Facebook.
"We encourage all citizens to consider safety first, and plan a route that is well-lit and utilize sidewalks and avoid any potentially hazardous or unlit locations."
