Police Seize More Than 40 Grams Of Cocaine, Ecstasy After Arrest In Groton
Police said officers arrested a man in Groton, then seized cocaine, ecstasy and more after executing a search warrant in Ledyard.

GROTON, CT - Police said officers arrested a man Wednesday in Groton following an investigation into the sale of narcotics in the area. Officers then seized cocaine, ecstasy and more after executing a search warrant in Ledyard, police said.
Ledyard and Groton Town police arrested Thomas O. Montague, 28, in Groton before executing a search and seizure warrant at his Ledyard residence, according to a release. Police said detectives seized 45 grams of cocaine, six grams of ecstasy, 10.1 ounces of marijuana and $2,550. (To sign up for Groton breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Montague was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of a hallucinogen
and operating a drug factory among other charges.

In May 2017, the Ledyard and Groton Town Police Departments began working together to combat the heroin epidemic in the area and improve the quality of life for citizens, police said. Both departments were assisted by the Regional Community Enhancement Task Force, which is comprised of detectives and officers from southeastern Connecticut, during the month-long investigation.
