Suspect In March Shooting Arrested: Groton PD
Groton police said a man accused of shooting a person in the abdomen in March was recently taken into custody.

GROTON, CT — Groton police said a man accused of shooting a person in the abdomen in March was recently taken into custody. The incident occurred in the early morning hours on March 11, according to police.
On that date, police responded to the area of Branford Avenue around 12:30 a.m. after receiving multiple reports of shots being fired. Officers quickly determined an altercation had occurred in the parking lot and all parties had fled the scene prior to their arrival, according to a release.
Police said one victim was located at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound described as non-life threatening.

After a thorough investigation, police said they identified Nathan Ramos, 24, of Brooklyn, N.Y., as the man who shot the victim. Police said Ramos is a convicted felon and was already on parole in New York for grand theft auto.
The accused was taken into custody on March 26 by the New York Police Department, and he waived extradition. He was then transported back to Groton on Thursday.

The accused is charged with Assault, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Risk of Injury to a Minor, Reckless Endangerment, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm and Criminal Use of a Firearm, police said.
