United Way Seeking Allocations Volunteers

Help decide how donations are invested in the community to advance the common good for all

United Way of Southeastern Connecticut is currently looking for community volunteers to serve on its Allocations Panels. These teams of volunteers ensure that donations to United Way are wisely invested in local health and human service programs that help in the areas of education, income, and health -- the building blocks for a good quality of life.

Relying on applications, site visits, program results, and financial records, United Way Allocations Volunteers help decide how United Way funding is allocated among programs that work together to change lives and advance the common good in New London County.

United Way is seeking individuals to serve on Allocations Panels that meet between mid-February and May. Training and orientation is provided. Each meeting or site visit typically lasts about two hours, and there are panels available in both mornings and evenings.

In between meetings, volunteers will be required to read through materials on their own. There are four breaks during the Allocations cycle so volunteers do not have to commit to every week during this time period.
