What To Expect
- Snow accumulation is expected from Sunday into Monday, with impacts increasing overnight. Over a foot of snow is possible.
- Snow-covered roads and reduced visibility could make travel dangerous, particularly on hills and near intersections.
- Officials urge residents to stay off the roads when possible to allow plow trucks and emergency vehicles to operate safely.
Parking Ban
Parking is prohibited on all City of Groton streets during the ban period. The only exception is even-side parking on Nathan Hale Drive, Paul Revere Drive and Litton Avenue, police said.
City officials said vehicles parked on hills or near intersections pose the greatest risk to snowplow operators.
Temporary parking is available at Eastern Point Beach, the municipal parking lot at 2 Latham St., and Washington Park.
Vehicles found in violation of the snow removal ban may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
