Groton Man Arrested After Police Find Ghost Gun In Car

NEW LONDON, CT — Two people are facing gun charges after police took them into custody Thursday, including a Groton man.

Police took the pair into custody following an investigation on Nautilus Drive in New London at around noon.

Albert Goss, of Groton, had three warrants out for his arrest with a combined bond total of $650,000, police said.

When officers first contacted Goss, he provided them with a false ID, police said, and claimed he was a family member.

Justin Provencher, 39, of New London, was also taken into custody as police said he assisted Goss in concealing his identity.

Police searched a vehicle that Goss and Provencher were in and said they recovered an illegal 9 mm "ghost gun" pistol that had been altered.

Goss was charged with three counts of first-degree failure to appear in court, interfering with police, criminal impersonation, criminal possession of a firearm, weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a firearm while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, violation of a protective order and illegal alteration of a firearm.

Provencher was charged with interfering with police, criminal possession of a firearm, weapon in a motor vehicle and illegal alteration of a firearm.
