Another Guilford House Hit With Racist Graffiti; Police Say They Know Who Is Behind It
Police say they have positively identified the person responsible for painting the racist slurs. BREAKING

GUILFORD, CT — For the second time in a month a house in Guilford has been vandalized with "anti-Asian graffiti" painted on a residence, police said. Police said Monday that they have positively identified the person or persons responsible for the racist graffiti.
At 6:35 a.m. Sunday police received a report of anti-Asian graffiti painted on a home on Old Whitfield Street. On June 20, a prior report of a similar anti-Asian graffiti was painted on a different home in the same neighborhood, police said.
The Guilford Police Department has been investigating the first incident and has identified a person of interest, police said Monday. Upon investigating the incident from Sunday, police said it appears both are connected based on similarities.

"There is no known connection to any other incident(s), nor is this connected to any racist group or movement," police said in a news release. "As stated in an earlier press release, it is important to refrain from reaching conclusions about the incident, the offender(s) or the victim(s) in any case without all the facts. We ask the public to maintain this approach when considering this case."
"Understandably, incidents of this nature can shake a community," Police Chief Jeffrey C. Hutchinson said. "However, rather than be pulled apart, Guilford was drawn together and continues to move forward to demonstrate their commitment to mutual respect and acceptance. The Guilford Police Department shares this commitment."
