
Cantor Colburn LLP, one of the nation’s leading intellectual property law firms, announced the elevation of Guilford resident Leslie-Anne Maxwell, Ph.D. to partner on January 1, 2014.
Maxwell provides all aspects of patent representation to clients working in chemical and life science research with a particular emphasis on the pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical industries. Anne has more than 10 years’ experience drafting patents and prosecuting U.S. and non-U.S. patents in the areas of small molecule pharmaceuticals, drug delivery and formulations, biological therapeutics, chemical processes, medical diagnostics, biomaterials, and agricultural chemicals. Anne performs searches, determines patentability and freedom to operate, drafts and prosecutes patent applications, counsels clients in their development of effective patent protection worldwide, and assists clients with licensing and due diligence. Anne also prepares invalidity and non-infringement opinions and supports Cantor Colburn’s litigation group in Abbreviated New Drug Application litigation. Prior to joining Cantor Colburn, Anne worked as a patent agent and chemist at Neurogen Corporation.

Maxwell’s holds a B.A. in Biology and a B.S. in Chemistry from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, an M.S. in Chemistry from Yale University, a Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from Yale University, and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law with honors. She is admitted to the bar of the state of Connecticut and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
