GUILFORD, CT — First Selectman Matt Hoey announced that the town has now gotten the 10,000 masks it had ordered and is ready to distribute them

Today, a group of volunteers and town employees will repackage the masks from the bulk containers into quantities of two or five masks, Hoey said.

According to town health director Dennis Johnson, beginning Tuesday, masks will be distributed in the Guilford High School parking lot between the 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. People will not need to get out of cars as "volunteers, wearing masks and gloves, will be handing them out. They will either place them in the trunk of your car or pass them through the driver’s side window," a message to the community from Hoey reads.

Hoey asks residents to "please continue social distancing, hand washing, the wearing of masks in accordance with guidelines and properly dispose of masks and gloves, for the safety of all our residents."
