Dashcam Footage Of Bison Encounter Released By Guilford Police
Police first encountered one of the bison on Aug. 18. Overall, three escaped from a nearby ranch, but in a surprise, four returned home.

GUILFORD, CT — Why did the bison cross the road?
The Guilford Police Department on Thursday released dashcam footage of their first encounter with the large animal in the early morning hours of Aug. 18 on Long Hill Road. The bison is seen walking along the roadway and then turning up a driveway before disappearing into the woods.
Officers on the radio dispatch can be heard saying they're en route for bison manpower.

Three bison — a mother, father and sibling — escaped from 3B Ranch in nearby Northford last weekend, but the trio returned home as a quartet on Tuesday, according to the ranch.
"Thank you to the department for helping to bring our big guys home! Another fun fact to add some sweetness to this story, our mama went on 'maternity leave' and came home with a brand new baby!" 3B Ranch said on Facebook. "The 3 loose bison were mom, dad and a sibling, went off roaming to have their baby [on] the mountain so they left as 3 and came back a family of 4!"

The GPD joked that the mother wanted one last "babymoon."
