Developer Planning Large Shopping Center in Guilford

135,000-square-foot shopping center proposed

In another sign the economic recession is starting to fade, Developer DDR Corp. is back before the town with plans to construct a 135,000-square-foot shopping center at the Guilford Commons site, the New Haven Register reports.

The company had approval six years ago to construct a similar project, but then the economic recession hit and nothing was ever developed, the Register reports.

Company officials wouldn’t say who could come to Guilford but did tell the Register that it would be national retailers.
