Did Guilford Residents Pick Trump or Clinton for President?

Full election results and numbers were released for all races that Guilford residents voted on.

GUILFORD, CT — On Election Night in Guilford residents preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump by a margin of 7,864 to 4,929.

Clinton earned 59 percent of the vote in Guilford, Trump received 37 percent, while Gary Johnson earned 338 or 2.5 percent of the votes and Jill Stein received 159 votes or 1.1 percent.

In the race for U.S. Senate, Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., amassed on multiple lines 7,823 and 590 votes and his opponent Dan Carter, a Republican, received 4,168 votes. Blumenthal earned 65 percent of the vote in Guilford.

Incumbent Rosa DeLauro, a Democrat, received 8,124 and 731 votes on multiple lines and Angel Cadena, a Republican, received 4,127 votes. DeLauro received 68 percent of the vote in Guilford.

In Guilford, for 12th Senatorial District Democrat Edward Kennedy Jr. earned 7,845 and 603 votes on multiple lines and Republican candidate Bruce Wilson Jr. received 4,232 and 167 votes on multiple lines. Kennedy received 65 percent of the vote. Kennedy earned a second-term. Wilson is a Madison resident.

In the 98th State House District Democrat Sean Scanlonran unopposed and received 6,910 and 1,030 votes on multiple lines. Scanlon is completing his first term.

For the 86th State House District Republican Vincent J. Candelora received 1,383 and 206 votes on multiple lines and his opponent Vincent J. Mase earned 296 votes. Candelora is completing his fifth term and won re-election with 85 percent of the vote.
