Shoreline East Service Back To Normal After Fallen Tree Causes Brief Service Suspension: UPDATE
The tree fell just before noon Wednesday. BREAKING

UPDATE: Shoreline East says service is now operating on or close to schedule as of 2 p.m.
GUILFORD, CT — A fallen tree on the tracks in Guilford has led to the suspension of train service for Shoreline East trains from New Haven to New London indefinitely, NBC Connecticut reports. Train service is suspended in both directions, WFSB 3 TV reports.
State Rep. Sean Scanlon, D-Guilford, said "I have reached out to DOT and am awaiting more info of how long it will be/game plan for pm commute." It's unclear how long it will take to remove the tree.

"Update: Buses will be operating between New Haven and Guilford using the normal train schedule until the issue is resolved," Scanlon said on social media.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, SLE train service has been suspended indefinitely, updates will follow. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Train #1616 has been replaced by bus service from New Haven to Guilford, then becomes train. Branford boards bus at Track 2.
