Faxon Law Guilford Half Marathon & 5K Adds Kids Fun Run!

Guilford, CT – The Faxon Law Guilford Half Marathon & 5K takes place on Sunday, November 12 at the Guilford Fairgrounds. Races include a half marathon, 5K and new Rotary of Madison Kids Fun Run. The races are limited to 1,200 entrants. This year marks the final time this half marathon will be held in Guilford. Race organizers plan to move the event back to Hammonasset Beach State Park in 2018 (event initially held at Hammonasset in 2015 but construction has keep all special events out of park since 2016). The event features several perks including tech tees to the first 1,000 entrants. All participants are invited to a post-race party at the Guilford Fairgrounds including DuVig Brewing Co beer, food, live music and more!

The half marathon course features scenic views of Long Island Sound as runners travel through Sachem’s Head, Mulberry Point and the Guilford Docks. The half marathon features mile markers and 8 aid stations on the race course. Half marathon finishers receive commemorative finisher medals. The 5K travels through Downtown Guilford and the historic Guilford Green. The 5K course has mile markers and one aid station. Awards are presented to the top three overall male & female finishers and top three male & female age group finishers.

The Faxon Law Guilford Half Marathon & 5K benefits the Rotary Clubs of Madison and Guilford. The mission of the Rotary is service in the community, workplace and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. The event will also donate funds to a number of local school athletic programs and clubs.

The event is organized by JB Sports who annually coordinates 25 road races each year including the Branford Road Race and New Haven Road Race.
