Faxon Law Guilford Half Marathon & 5K Set for November 13th!

The Faxon Law Guilford Half Marathon & 5K takes place on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Guilford Fairgrounds. Due to construction in Hammonasset Beach State Park, the Madison Half Marathon & 5K is moving to Guilford for 2016. Last year’s inaugural event reached its limit of 1,500 entrants a few weeks prior to the event. This year’s half marathon & 5K expects to again sell out. The half marathon course features scenic views of Long Island Sound as runners travel through Sachem’s Head, Mulberry Point and the Guilford Docks. The 5K travels through Downtown Guilford and the historic Guilford Green.

The event features several perks including tech tees to the first 1,000 entrants and commemorative medals to all half marathon finishers. The half marathon features mile markers and 8 aid stations on the race course. The 5K course has mile markers and one aid station. Awards are presented to the top three overall male & female finishers and top three male & female age group finishers. Participants are invited to a post-race party at the Guilford Fairgrounds including food, beverages, live music and more!

The event is organized by JB Sports who annually coordinates 25 road races each year including the Branford Road Race and New Haven Road Race. The Faxon Law Guilford Half Marathon & 5K benefits the Rotary Clubs of Madison and Guilford. The mission of the Rotary is service in the community, workplace and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. The event will also donate funds to local high school athletic programs.
