Guilford Art Center Announces Fall Registration for Classes & Workshops

Registration is open for art classes and workshops for youth and adults at Guilford Art Center

Registration is open for fall classes and workshops at Guilford Art Center. Classes are offered for youth (ages 2 ½ and older) and adults. The fall semester runs from September 11 – November 17.

In addition to all of the standard classes across mediums, there are a wide range of new and seasonally-offered classes.

New adult classes include a new Blacksmithing workshops, additional ceramic classes for beginners and experienced students, “Patina Basics” metalsmithing class, and “Soft Books: Sewn Encaustic Monotypes on Ecaustiflex” workshop.

New children’s classes include “iPhone & Digital Photography”, “Make it 3D” (using 3D doodler pens) and “Fun with Metal”, where students learn to make jewelry and mini sculpture.

GAC welcomes two new instructors, Justin Gerace and Louise Harter. Justin Gerace received his MFA from Bowling Green University and co-founded Behind the Wheel Pottery llc in 2008. He works predominantly with the potters wheel making large scale vessels, inspired by classical forms, graffiti and hip hop. He will teach a “Throwing Pots” class.

Louise Harter is a functional potter and has taught at Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven since 2000. She leads workshops in schools and art centers around the US, while maintaining a studio in Bethany, CT. She will teach “Pottery for All Levels” at GAC.
