Guilford 'Contemplating' Bridge Replacement Project
A bulk of the funding would come from the federal government.

GUILFORD, CT — First Selectman Joseph S. Mazza said that the town is "contemplating" a project to replace the Saw Mill Road Bridge over the West River. The bridge project would be eligible for federal funds.
If the project occurs, construction isn't expected until 2019. Mazza said that it's important to share the possibility of the major project with residents as early as possible. If you seek additional information you can call Town Engineer Jim Portley at 203-453-8037.
The project is estimated to cost $1.7 million and the federal government would pay 80 percent with Guilford residents paying the remaining 20 percent, Mazza said. He added that the town's share would actually come from a state grant the town receives.
