Guilford FD Warns Residents Of Suspected Phone Scam

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Fire Department is advising residents to be wary of telephone solicitations seeking donations for town firefighters. According to a recent Facebook post, the department has received inquiries from several residents who were solicited by telephone for donations to the fire department.

Fire officials said the department does not contract with any third parties to solicit donations by telephone, so any organization calling a resident or local business claiming to represent the department is "not acting in our interests."
