Guilford Man Pleads Guilty For Failing To Report To Prison

The U.S. Marshals Service located and arrested the accused at a hotel in Branford.

GUILFORD, CT — Brian Page, 44, of Guilford pleaded guilty today before U.S. District Judge Alvin W. Thompson in Hartford to one count of failure to surrender for service of his federal sentence, federal officials said.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on Oct. 17, 2017, Thompson sentenced Page to 97 months of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release, for his role in a scheme to distribute oxycodone that was obtained through fraudulent prescriptions, officials said in a news release.

Thompson ordered Page, who was released on a $200,000 bond, to surrender for service of his sentence on Nov. 17, 2017, federal officials said. Page was subsequently designated by the Bureau of Prisons to the Federal Correctional Institute at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

The charge of failure to surrender for service of a federal sentence carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years, which must be imposed consecutively to the underlying sentence.

Thompson scheduled sentencing for Feb. 5, 2019. Page has been detained since his arrest.
