Guilford Officials Upset With CLP's Response to Downed Power Lines During October Storm
Officials said they would not accept live wires sitting on the ground for hours.

Guilford officials were upset over Connecticut Light and Power’s lack of response to downed power lines that lay on the roads in the Sachem Head section of town for up to six hours during a storm in the state on Oct. 22, Jack Kramer reports from The Guilford Courier.
At a meeting with CL&P officials on Oct. 31 First Selectman Joseph Mazza said company representatives said they fell down on the job, the paper reports. Officials made it clear to CL&P at the meeting that they do not expect to see this happen again.
According to the paper, CL&P’s emergency management team is conducting an investigation to see whether proper protocol was carried out by all parties and the findings will be shared with the town.
