Guilford PD Pay Respects at Funeral of Slain NYPD Detective

The Guilford Police Department attended the funeral for slain officer Wenjian Liu.

The funeral was held on Jan. 4 in Brooklyn.

According to the Huffington Post, thousands of officers crowded the Aievoli Funeral Home in Brooklyn to pay their respects. A ceremony led by Buddhist monks was performed for the officer followed by a police ceremony.

Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were killed by a Baltimore man “execution style” while they were sitting in a patrol car in the neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn on Dec. 20. Ismaayil Brinsley, 28, shot the officers possibly in revenge for incidents of police brutality.
