Guilford Police Cracking Down On Seatbelt Violations

Police said several methods will be deployed.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Police Department is participating in the statewide "Click it or Ticket" campaign which runs from Nov. 20 to Nov. 27 as seatbelt violations will be a priority for patrol officers.

"Officers may use a variety of enforcement techniques from organized checkpoints to roaming patrol, as well as the deployment of Guilford's low profile traffic unit," police said. "It is the hope of the Guilford Police Department that this enhanced enforcement will stand as an opportunity to educate the public and remind our citizens of the dangers of operating or being a passenger in a motor vehicle without wearing a seatbelt."

Police also said officers are available for installation of child safety seats on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
