Guilford Police Explain Why Low Flying Airplanes Reported Over Town Today

BREAKING: Police said they received several phone calls about the issue today.

Several people called the station today to report large, low flying airplanes. We confirmed with the CT Air National Guard that they were conducting training with their C 130 planes.

Upon confirmation they let us know that in congested areas they are allowed to fly as low as 500 feet and in non-congested areas, they can be as low as 300 feet! ✈️

While it was a little scary for some residents in towns, it is an awesome sight to see and we are so very thankful for their service!
