Guilford Police Holding Citizens Police Academy
Residents are encouraged to sign up now.

Guilford Police Department is proud to announce the 2015 Citizens Police Academy dates! The Academy will be held Thursday nights from 6-9pm at the Guilford Police Department Community Room beginning March 26th and ending May 28th.
The academy includes information about not only our police department but information on criminal law, use of force laws, traffic laws, domestic violence laws, and other legal topics. Last year’s academy had guest speakers from Guilford Youth and Family, Statewide Narcotics, New Haven Bomb Squad, Homeland Security, New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office, Office of the Victim’s Advocate, and the Ansonia K9 Unit. We also incorporated a range day so that attendees could learn about and fire our weapons. In addition, attendees will also have the opportunity to go on a ride along with Guilford Officers to experience what it is like to be on patrol.
This year has even more programming, so if you are interested in law enforcement as a career, curious about the police department, or just want to know where your tax dollars go, please join us for the 2015 Citizens Police Academy.
