Guilford Police Issue Important Halloween Message

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Police wants everyone to have a fun and safe Halloween tonight. But the festivities have been complicated by a major storm that knocked down numerous trees and power lines in town.

Police said "the town and utility companies have been working diligently to make these areas safe for pedestrians and vehicular traffic. The Police Department reminds everyone to be aware of possible areas where there may still be wires down across driveways and sidewalks being used by the public tonight.

Please do not drive or walk around roads that have been coned, taped or barricaded off. These are marking hazards that may include power lines being down across the road. Further, please do not climb or play in or near trees that have fallen as they may have power lines entangled in them.
