Guilford Robbery Suspect Shot by Police in New Haven: PD

The suspect allegedly tried to back into police officers, according to police.

GUILFORD, CT—State Police and New Haven Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in the area of Church Street and Columbus Avenue/Street.

Injuries appear non-life threatening at this time, said Trooper First Class Kelly Grant, State Police spokeswoman.
Guilford Police put out a notice that a Branford man stole a car in the town early Tuesday, according to the New Haven Independent.
The man, identified as Kenneth Palmieri, 49, allegedly committed a robbery in Guilford and New Haven, according to WTNH.
He drove away from police and officers called off the pursuit. Eventually he was found in parking garage at the Church Street South housing complex.
He allegedly drove into two police cars and tried to run officers down, police told the Independent. An officer fired his gun at the suspect.
The officer wasn't injured.
