Guilford Teen Rescued After Getting Lost Hiking in Onondaga County

Two Syracuse University students were rescued Sunday evening from Highland Forest, iHeartRadio reported.

One of the two students rescued was Lindsey Updake, 18, of Guilford. Updake was hiking in the woods with one of her friends when the two became lost in the Southern portion of the forest.

According to the radio station, the hikers called 911 around 5:35 p.m. telling them they were lost and stuck in mud. The 911 center notified Onondaga County Park Rangers who identified the location of the hikers. The two were rescued by helicopter.

No injuries were reported.
