Guilford's Deputy Police Chief Ascends to Police Chief Position in Massachusetts: Report
The long-time Branford resident begins his new job early next month.

GUILFORD, CT — Guilford Deputy Police Chief John "Jack" Dunn, who joined the force in 1990, has been hired to lead the town of Hull, Massachusetts Police Department, reports The Sound. Dunn is a Branford resident.
Dunn was promoted from lieutenant to deputy chief on April 1, 2015. He served as a Patrol Officer, a Detective, a Sergeant, a Detective Sergeant and a Lieutenant. He also served in in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant prior to becoming a police officer.
Dunn's first day in his new job is Dec. 5, The Sound reports. Hull is located adjacent to Boston. He was chosen over 54 people that applied for the position. His last day on the job in Guilford is Nov. 16.

Dunn and his wife have deep roots in Branford and Guilford.
“So leaving is going to be bittersweet. It’s just like family here," Dunn told The Sound's Pam Johnson.
