ID Released Of Woman Killed In Guilford Crash: Police

An 82-year-old woman was killed in a two-car crash in Guilford on Aug. 24, according to police.

GUILFORD, CT — Police on Monday released the identity of the woman who was killed in a two-car crash in Guilford on Aug. 24.

The woman was identified as Chau T. Le, 82, of East Haven, police said in an update.

"Le was the passenger in one of the involved vehicles. This investigation remains active at this time and our condolences go out to the family and friends of Chau Le," police said.

First responders were called to the 1600 block of Route 80 for a two-car crash with injuries Saturday morning, the GPD said in a news release.

Two occupants in one of the cars were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Le, who was reported to have "life-threatening injuries," according to police, died at the hospital.

Route 80 between Long Hill Road and North Branford line was closed to traffic for several hours while the South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit (SCCTU) conducted an investigation. The roadway reopened at 2 p.m. Saturday.

"It is the policy of the Guilford Police Department to ensure that all traffic accidents are investigated in a thorough and professional manner," police added.
