Jewish High Holiday Services On Shoreline Open to All

Chabad of the Shoreline offers their yearly High Holiday services to all with no membership or dues and a flexible schedule

The traditional services are interspersed with stories and explanations by Rabbi Yossi Yaffe with a focus on making the prayers personally relevant. Rochel Baila Yaffe conducts the children’s program. Their son Yehoshua and is the Chazan, prayer leader, leading the congregation in the traditional tunes, soulful melodies and lively singing. The other children assist wherever needed to help make the experience a success.

“To understand the core of Judaism and the Jewish experience, history and peoplehood is to recognize that it is not just a religion, culture or nation but it is really an extended family.” says Rabbi Yossi Yaffe. “Here at Chabad we live with that approach and our goal is to create a warm environment for Jews of all backgrounds.”

“It is important that you feel comfortable no matter your background or affiliation, so please feel free to come to any part of the services” says Rochel Baila Yaffe, “even if you can just make it to the sounding of the Shofar or the Tashlich ceremony, please just RSVP and we would love to see you!”

The two day festival of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, runs from Friday night, September 11 through Sunday night the 13^th. The Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, begins Sunday, September 20^th and ends Monday night September 21. All are welcome, there are no membership dues or tickets, however RSVP is needed.
