Major Retailer Expected To Occupy Part Of Guilford Walmart Site: Report
The major retailer will close a nearby location and is expected to move to Guilford, according to the Shoreline Times.

CLINTON/GUILFORD, CT — T.J. Maxx will close its Clinton location in October and is expected to open in a portion of the closed Walmart building in Guilford, reports the Shoreline Times.
T.J. Maxx officials wouldn't confirm the Guilford relocation plans, but an application for approval of a T.J. Maxx sign was filed with Guilford earlier this month, the Shoreline Times reported.
In a 2022 Patch story, Guilford First Selectman Matt Hoey said he'd be "glad to have another retailer fill the space." Walmart announced in early spring of 2022 that it was closing its Guilford store, much to the dismay of employees and many in the community. The company said the store was "underperforming."
