Missing Walmart, Guilford? Would A TJ Maxx/Home Goods Help You Heal?
The town's Design Review Committee met with the Shoreline Plaza Shopping Center developer about a possible new tenant: TJ Maxx/Home Goods.

GUILFORD, CT — The town's Design Review Board met with the Shoreline Plaza Shopping Center developer at a June 22 special meeting. The agenda item simply reads, "Discussion of Proposed Changes to Shoreline Plaza Shopping Center, 842-916 Boston Post Road."
And while the minutes of that meeting are not yet posted, First Selectman Matt Hoey confirmed for Patch that "TJMaxx and Home Goods are the potential tenants" for the space long occupied by the now shuttered Walmart.
Walmart announced in early spring that it was closing its Guilford store, much to the dismay of employees and many in the community. The company said the store was "underperforming." Read that story here.
