Obituary: George Edward Soule Jr., 79, formerly of Guilford
Born in Guilford, a Daniel Hand grad and Army veteran, he was a free spirit who traveled the world and enjoyed visiting our National Parks.

George Edward Soule Jr, son of George and Dorothy (Berger) Soule, died at age 79 on May 28, 2022, in Charlottesville, VA after a battle with cancer.
He was born in Guilford, CT on October 10, 1942. He graduated from Daniel Hand High school in Madison, CT. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America. After serving two years as a tank operator in the U.S. Army, he attended Chico State University in California, where he graduated with a civil engineering degree. He worked for many years at Dewberry Engineering in Mt Laurel Township, NJ. He lived in Tobyhanna, PA, and wintered for many years in Gold Canyon, AZ.

George was an avid golfer, skier, hiker and back country camper. He was a free spirit who traveled all over the world and especially enjoyed visiting our National Parks. George made fast friends wherever he went, who will miss his friendly smile, helping hands and wonderful sense of humor.
He will be especially missed by his brother, William Soule (wife Patricia) of Palmyra, VA, niece Leah Soule Amyot (husband Jacques) of Porter Corners, NY, and nephews David Soule of Higganum, CT, and Daniel Soule (wife Kari) of Stanley, NC, and several cousins, a great nephew and great nieces.

Funeral services will be held at the First Congregational Church, 26 Meeting House Ln, Madison on Saturday, June 11th, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Alder Brook Cemetery in Guilford, CT. Friends may call at the Guilford Funeral Home on Friday, June 10th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
