Obituary: Patricia J. Read, 88, longtime Guilford resident

On Monday, September 27, 2021 Patricia J. Read, longtime resident of Guilford and Bluffton SC, passed away at Ocean Meadows Senior Living and Memory Care in Clinton CT.

The dedicated wife of Carl A Read Jr . Pat was born in New Haven CT on March 4, 1933, daughter of the late Charles and Theresa Johnson. Pat was a loving mother to Susan Silvia and her husband David Brown of Guilford CT; her sons; (predeceased) Charles Silvia and Brian Silvia. Robin Keating and her husband Jim of Westbrook; Christopher Read and his wife Holly of Hadlyme ; Mark Read and his wife Kathy of Manchester, VT ; Jody MacManus of Elgin AZ ; Wendy Cusick and her husband John of Bethany.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. Sister of Rosalie Driscoll and her husband Jim of Florida. Aunt to Richard Chuckery and great aunt to Julian Chuckery of Japan.

Pat enjoyed working alongside Carl at Ober-Read and Associates for many years before retirement.
