GUILFORD, CT – Anyone who has driven around downtown Guilford during lunchtime on a weekday afternoon or Sunday morning brunch time knows finding a parking space can be quite a challenge.
Additionally the tight, diagonal parking slots can make it an adventure for both the parker and those trying to drive by.

The good news is it means that the merchants surrounding the Town Green are doing well.
The bad news is parking spots are limited and that doesn’t even take into account the many walkers who sometime use the crosswalks, but sometimes don’t.

At the most recent meeting of the Economic Development Commission, the commission discussed the parking situation.
EDC member Theodore Sands suggested that a sub-committee be formed “to look and study parking in the downtown Guilford area.”
Sands said he would like to take the initiative to study and explore parking options.
Fellow EDC members Michael Orce and Frank Paranto volunteered to assist with the analysis of the parking situation with the idea of reporting back on any possible solutions at future EDC meetings.
