Police K-9 Helps Nab 3 Men Who Used Stolen Credit Cards to Buy Gift Cards from Guilford Walmart: Police

BREAKING: Police learned of the larceny Thursday evening and quickly arrested all three men.

GUILFORD, CT — Police say they arrested three Brooklyn men who used stolen credit cards and illegally made ones to purchase gift cards at Walmart in Guilford, police said.

The three men fled the store and one was quickly apprehended at a local gas station while two others fled in a car, police said. In the end, Officer Bartlett and K-9 Kobe tracked the two suspects to a marsh and they were all taken into custody, police said.

Police said at 6 p.m. Thursday police received a report of stolen credit cards used at the Guilford Walmart. Three men, Devin Lee Rhames, Maurice Pringle, Tyshawun Landells, each of Brooklyn, NY, allegedly used the stolen credit cards to purchase gift cards at the retailer and fled the scene, police said.

The suspect's vehicle was found at a gas station and one suspect was apprehended without incident, while two others fled in the car, police said. The vehicle was found unoccupied at the end of Shoreline Drive, police said.

Officer Bartlett and K-9 Kobe found the two suspects hiding in a marsh and police also recovered numerous stolen and manufactured credit cards that the suspects tried to hide by dumping in the East River, police said.

Also other "skimming" type devices used to steal credit cards was found and a computer, police said.

The three men were charged with several larceny, identity theft and criminal impersonation charges and each held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
