Public Hearing Slated For Extension Of Cannabis Moratorium In Guilford
Guilford's temporary moratorium expires on June 30.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Board of Selectmen last week voted to set a public hearing date of June 17 at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom to consider an ordinance amendment to extend the temporary moratorium on cannabis establishments in the town.
Guilford's temporary moratorium expires on June 30. First Selectman Matt Hoey has said if the town fails to act and come up with some sort of ordinance, Guilford "will have absolutely no control over how many, or where, any of the 11 categories of cannabis business can take place."
Last week, a public hearing was held on a proposed ordinance, which does not apply to medical cannabis dispensaries, that calls for the prohibition of cannabis establishments, cannabis events, cannabis product use on town property and the sale, gift or transfer of cannabis products on town property.
