Person Struck By Train, Amtrak/Shore Line East Service Disrupted

Expect delays as a person has been hit by a train in Westbrook.

GUILFORD, CT — Shore Line East says train service has been suspended indefinitely between Guilford and Old Saybrook Stations. Passengers for Train#1651 are asked to board at the Guilford Station.

A person was struck and killed by an Acela train in Westbrook Friday morning causing Amtrak service to be halted, NBC Connecticut reports. No one on board the train was injured. The person was struck around 7:45 a.m.

announced on social media "SERVICE DISRUPTION: All service that operates between New Haven, CT (NHV) and Providence, RI (PVD) is currently stopped due to a trespasser incident. This currently impacts Train 2190, 190, 2150,170, 95 and, 2155. We will update once more information is available."
