At the most recent Guilford Lakes Golf Course Commission meeting, commission members were told that some members playing the course were “playing a second round without paying the (additional) $7 fee to play the course again.”
The commission said the issue would be dealt with by staff members at the course “reminding” golfers that when they pay to play the course – that they are only paying for one round at a time.

Finances at the course have been an issue for some time, as it was reported recently that the town-owned course is operating in the red, despite the fact that it is very popular.
The town hired a golf pro this year, who started in April, to try and increase membership, improve the amenities and start a junior program in an effort to improve the financial bottom line for the golf course.
