These Roads Are Closed In Guilford

After Tuesday's heavy rains moved through several roads in town are closed. BREAKING

Information via Guilford Police:

GUILFORD, CT — Last night was a busy night for Guilford Fire, DPW, DOT and Guilford Police... numerous water rescues and vehicles destroyed.... houses flooding in various parts of town.

We have an updated list of roads closed and areas that are limited to one lane for the morning commute. It does appear we are expecting more rain today so check back this afternoon for updates.

If you have to go out and encounter flooded roads.... turn around, don’t drown. Your car can be swept away with as little as 2 ft of water.

200 Podunk Rd is open to one lane of traffic.

Moose Hill Rd is currently closed from about 1820 to the 1906 block- tree blocking the road.

Nortontown Rd is closed from approx 591 to Burgis Lane.

Please give yourself ample time for detours on your way to work as many other towns are facing the same issues. Please have patience with emergency personnel and other drivers this morning as we all want people to arrive at their destinations safely.
