Guilford Schools Welcome New Certified Staff

On Thursday, August 30, students, staff and faculty will be joined by 25 new faculty members.

 

As the 2012-13 school year gets underway on Thursday, students, faculty and staff will welcome 25 new certified staff members throughout the district.

These new staff members met for three days of orientation and professional development in August. They are now ready to start the school year.

Here is a brief introduction to each of them as they start their career in the Join Guilford Patch in welcoming them to the district.

  • Sara Alberti, Speech Language Pathologist, Baldwin Middle School, enjoys hiking and bike riding with her husband and two children.
  • Susanne Bailey-Rice, Special Education, Calvin Leete, grew up in Guilford and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
  • Tom Bushnell, Grade 8, Adams Middle School, enjoys coaching, attending sporting events and time with family.
  • Beth Cafferty, Family and Consumer Science, Guilford High School, enjoys cooking and exercising.
  • Melissa Carney, Social Worker, Calvin Leete, enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, and traveling.
  • Mary Carroll, Special Education, A.W. Cox, enjoys reading, gardening and spending time outdoors.
  • Maria Curreri, Math Specialist, District, enjoys hiking with her dog.
  • Gianna D’Ambrosca, Social Studies, Guilford High School, enjoys reading books and watching the movies based on them and  traveling.
  • Dave Esteban, Social Worker, Guilford High School, enjoys sports, weight training, carpentry and badminton.
  • Jessica Hildahl, Latin, Guilford High School, enjoys hiking, reading and traveling.
  • Lloyd Johnson, Acting Director Pupil Services, enjoys golf, sailing and reading.
  • Kara Kennedy, Reading, Melissa Jones, enjoys walking and hiking with her dogs.
  • Sarah Kostandin, English, Guilford High School, enjoys tennis, running, photography, baking and reading
  • Margaret Lapitino, Special Education, Calvin Leete, grew up in Guilford and enjoys running, reading and traveling.
  • Jennifer Lukanich, Kindergarten, Calvin Leete, enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with husband and son.
  • Rachel Martinich, Business Education, Guilford High School, enjoys hiking, exercise and playing with her puppy, Russell.
  • Laura Meyer, PE, Guilford High School, enjoys exercising and reading.
  • Louis Monaco, Social Studies, Guilford High School,grew up in Guilford, enjoys going to auctions and antique shop and coaching
  • William O’Lynnger, Grade 8, Adams Middle School, enjoys playing bass/guitar, astronomy, poetry, ice hockey and ham radio.
  • Kimberly Pierce, Grade 4, Melissa Jones, enjoys reading, scrapbooking and spending time at the beach.
  • Robert Rafka, Science, Guilford High School, enjoys gardening, kayaking and fishing.
  • Samantha Randall, PE, Baldwin Middle School, enjoys yoga, Zumba, reading and hiking.
  • Lisa Ricci, Grade 5, Baldwin Middle School, enjoys reading and volleyball.
  • Meghan Wiese, PE, Adams Middle School, enjoys coaching, skiing, volleyball, and softball.
  • Katherine Willet, Kindergarten, Guilford Lakes (one year), enjoys hiking, photography, camping and kayaking.
