Woman Appears in Court After Seriously Injuring Guilford Pedestrian
The woman hit the pedestrian while driving under the influence and did not stop.

A West Haven woman appeared in court on Monday after she was accused of driving under the influence and hitting a pedestrian, NBC Connecticut reports.
Deborah Conradi, 53, hit Julia Rorke, 24, of Guilford who was walking along the roadway on Route 17 when she was leaving the Durham Fair. Rorke was thrown about 30 feet into the woods due to the impact of the crash.
According to the Middletown Press, State Police responded to the incident at around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday near Route 17 and Route 79. Conradi continued driving after the crash, NBC Connecticut reports, only coming to a halt when other drivers intervened.

Rorke was transported to Middlesex Hospital and then airlifted to Hartford Hospital for treatment. Rorke’s family told NBC she suffered head trauma but is recovering at home.
State Police charged Conradi with driving under the influence, assault, evading responsibility and failure to maintain a lane, the news channel reports. Conradi is scheduled to lose her license on Oct. 2 due to her poor driving record.

Conradi posted a $25,000 bond and is scheduled back in court on Nov. 3.
