3 Charged In Armed Carjacking In Hamden: Police

Three men have been arrested in connection with a recent armed carjacking in Hamden, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — Three New Haven residents have been arrested in connection with an armed carjacking last month in Hamden.

A 21-year-old man was carjacked at gunpoint by three people around 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 27 in a condominium parking lot on Town Walk Drive, police said at the time. The victim told police he was approached by the suspects after he parked in the lot and was getting out of the vehicle.

They robbed him of his personal belongings and stole his vehicle, which was later recovered in Milford, according to police. The suspects left behind another stolen vehicle at the scene, which was recovered by Hamden police. The victim was not injured during the carjacking, police said.

Naszier Beall, 19, Levante Player, 20, and Kevin Wilfong-Dixon, 21, all of New Haven, were arrested Tuesday on a warrant at Meriden Superior Court, according to Sgt. Angela Vey.

Player, Beall and Wilfong-Dixon were each charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, illegal use of a credit card, conspiracy to commit illegal use of a credit Card, credit card theft, and conspiracy to commit credit card theft.

Beall was additionally charged with criminal possession of a pistol, carrying a pistol without a permit and negligent storage of a firearm.

At the time of their arrest, all three men were in custody at the Department of Corrections on unrelated charges, according to Vey. They were each held in lieu of a $500,000 bond and appeared in court on Nov. 15.

Detective Andrew Lipford, along with Detectives from the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Unit, Connecticut State Police, Milford Police Department, the New Haven Shooting Task Force and the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives task force conducted the extensive investigation, according to Vey.
