HAMDEN, CT — Five Hamden High School students were hospitalized after eating “marijuana cookies” that were brought in by another student on Monday, according to police. The 15-year-old student who brought in the cookies has been arrested, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said the five students appeared to be under the influence of drugs and were sent to the school nurse and a decision was immediately made to send the students to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medication treatment.

An investigation conducted by School Resource Officer Jay Bunnell revealed that the students had eaten “marijuana cookies” prior to becoming ill. A 15-year-old female student brought the cookies to the school, according to Smith.
