3 Women Charged In Stabbing In Hamden: Police

Three women have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Hamden, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — Three women have been arrested in connection with a fight with multiple stabbing victims earlier this year in Hamden, according to police.

The arrests stem from an incident that took place on Jan. 16 in the 300 block of Pine Rock Avenue. Police said at the time that the stabbing stemmed from an ongoing dispute between neighbors.

Three women had sustained stab wounds during the incident and were taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. One woman was critically injured, and two others suffered injuries that police said weren’t life-threatening.

In an update on Wednesday, police said three arrest warrants were issued after a “thorough and lengthy investigation.”

Sonia Davila, 35, of Hamden, was arrested on charges of first-degree assault, third-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, and second-degree breach of peace. Davila turned herself in on April 22 and was being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.

Yaritza Rey, 32, of Hamden, was arrested on charges of criminal attempt at first-degree assault, second-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree threatening, risk of injury to a minor, and second-degree breach of peace. Rey turned herself in on April 22 and was being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.

Yamiles Garcia, 30, of Hamden, was arrested on charges of criminal attempt at second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. Garcia turned herself in on April 22 and was being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

“Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of our officers, all suspects in this case have been identified and taken into custody,” Hamden Police Chief E.P. Reynolds said in a statement. “This outcome reflects the dedication, professionalism, and vigilance of our department. Let this serve as a clear message: if you commit a violent crime in our community, we will pursue you relentlessly and hold you accountable.”
