• Community Car Show & Marketplace Event Announced In Hamden (patch.com) — Hamden residents can look forward to a new Cars & Commerce Community Car Show and Marketplace coming to Town Center Park on Saturday, Sept. 19. Organized by the Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce, the free-to-attend event will showcase classic and specialty vehicles, local business vendors, food trucks, and raffles, with proceeds supporting the Hamden Police Activity League.
• Fall Festival Details Announced In Hamden (patch.com) — Families in Hamden can mark their calendars for the 26th Annual Brooksvale Park Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26, featuring live music, food trucks, kids' activities, and nature-themed exhibits. The long-running town tradition will also include a pumpkin patch, craft vendors, and Hamden Police K9 demonstrations, with organizers reminding visitors to bring cash for vendors and rides.
• Couples scramble for wedding venues after 103 mph winds damage historic carousel in New Haven (ctpost.com) — After storm damage shut down New Haven's historic Lighthouse Point carousel venue, the Eli Whitney Museum in Hamden is stepping up by offering its historic barn to displaced couples, including one marrying there this Saturday. The park remains closed while officials assess damage, and venues across Connecticut are pitching in to help reschedule weddings on short notice.
