1. Hamden Residents Urged To Report Damage From Flooding (patch.com) — Hamden officials are urging residents to report any damage from last Sunday's intense flooding through the state's CrisisTrack Damage Self Report system so losses are fully documented. More than 1,300 homes and businesses have already filed reports, and while federal aid is considered unlikely, local and state teams are assessing impacts, especially to flooded basements and HVAC systems.
2. Amazon's first drone delivery plan for Connecticut reaches key point (nhregister.com) — Amazon's proposed Prime Air drone hub in North Haven could soon deliver to much of Hamden, pending state environmental review and FAA approval. Residents may be able to choose 30‑minute drone delivery for eligible orders, with a $10 fee or $5 for Prime members, if regulators sign off this fall.
3. Tune-Yards Line Up North American Tour of I Love Boosters Score (pitchfork.com subscription) — Hamden music fans will get a visit from experimental pop group Tune‑Yards on November 16, when they bring their "The Ones That Love You" tour to Space Ballroom. The show supports their new film score for I Love Boosters, with Rituals of Mine opening and several other Northeast dates surrounding the Connecticut stop.
4. New Haven man found guilty of murder after man shot to death in 'coordinated ambush' (wtnh.com) — A New Haven jury has convicted a man of murdering 38‑year‑old John Williams, a Hamden resident shot multiple times while sitting in his car at his grandmother's Hamden home in 2022. The defendant was also found guilty of several firearm charges, with sentencing set for November in New Haven Superior Court.
