First Niagara Receives Corporate Partnership Award from VNA of South Central CT

New Haven (December 5, 2012) – John R. Quinn, President & CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut (VNA/SCC) recently announced that First Niagara was honored as the recipient of the 2012 Corporate Partnership Award from the VNA/SCC.

"When First Niagara entered the New Haven market, its leaders pledged to be supportive corporate members of our community and they have kept that promise," says Quinn. "We were honored to present First Niagara with the Corporate Partnership Award."

The award was presented to David Ring, First Niagara’s Head of Enterprise Banking and New England Region President, at the VNA/SCC’s 108th Annual Meeting & Community Awards ceremony on November 14.

"We’re proud of the tangible results that our sponsorship of the VNA/SCC’s programs has had in the community, and the direct impact of each dollar on greater New Haven residents," says Ring. "As a result of our support for the Subsidized Care Program, the VNA/SCC was able to provide over 150 home care visits for individuals that wouldn’t have otherwise received necessary treatment."

In 2011, First Niagara made a donation $20,000 to help the VNA/SCC continue providing care to the uninsured and underinsured in the Greater New Haven Area, and sponsored the Nightingale Awards for Nursing gala with a gift of $7,500. In 2012, First Niagara increased their philanthropic support of the VNA/SCC’s mission with a $25,000 grant.
