“Mike was a strong community leader, a loving family man, a civic activist, a person who cared deeply about his neighbors and his neighborhood - more than almost anyone I’ve ever known, and he would always fight for them, fight for what’s best for his constituents, without ever backing down,” Leng wrote in a post on Facebook. “Mike was a true gentleman, someone his friends could always count on and someone who lived a life of service.

“His service to this Town is long and distinguished. In addition to his many years on the Legislative Council, he was a political powerhouse on the 7th District Democratic Town Committee and a Civic powerhouse, as a longtime leader and tireless advocate for the Dunbar Hill Civic Association.
